6th World Pepper Convention: Chilli pepper sector to meet in Mexico in October 2009

Event will include painting and photography competitions on the theme of peppers

 

The 6th World Pepper Convention, a key event for players in the pepper business, will be staged in Merica, Yucatán, Mexico, on 25 to 27 2009.
The focal point of the various activities organised will be the Technical and Scientific Programme, which includes a Field Demonstration on Monday 26; the visitants will have the opportunity to attend some machinery demonstration in the Experimental field of Uxmal.

Commercial Programme
A Commercial Exhibition will be staged during the three days of the convention, which will present the very latest products, services and machinery, in addition to the most recent innovations and technology applied to the chilli pepper cultivar.
The organisers of the World Pepper Convention will also take this opportunity to promote business meetings between producers, marketers, industrial representatives, researchers and suppliers attending the event. One of the objectives of the National Council of Chilli Producers (CONAPROCH) is to improve business conditions for pepper growers and to give everyone involved in the chilli sector the chance to forge new business relationships.

Socio-Cultural Programme
CONAPROCH, in co-ordination with the Department of Culture of the Government of the State of San Luis Potosí, has organised the State Painting Competition and the State Photography Competition on the theme of chilli peppers. Through these competitions it is aimed to highlight the socio-cultural aspects of chilli peppers in Mexico.
